Statesman Doors is committed to ensuring our timbers are sourced from legal and well managed forests that have been certified to credible internationally recognised standards. We utilise a range of timber species in the manufacture of our products to provide you with a choice of timber colour, grain and texture that provides plenty of scope to match any decor or colour scheme.
Statesman Doors use a variety of manufacturing techniques and timbers to ensure an optimum combination of stability, durability and cost. Most of our range are now manufactured with a mix of solid timber and solid engineered components that makes most effective use of the different timbers we have chosen. We work with our manufacturing partners to continuously improve the design and construction of all our ranges.
When installing glass panels in your doors, you’re putting it through stresses that glass in windows doesn’t often have to endure – the door is moved constantly and will often have to resist quite high impacts when a door is slammed. All Statesman Doors’ glazing materials comply with Australian Standard AS1288 (Glass in Buildings – Selection and Installation).
Timber doors provide a beautiful addition to any building or home which can add value and a more natural feel. As with any natural product, however, they require the appropriate care and maintenance if you are to retain their beautiful appearance and trouble free operation. The principal enemy of timber doors is excess exposure to moisture or dryness. We ensure the timber has been prepared correctly at the time of door manufacture, however, we cannot control how the product is stored once it leaves our warehouse and to avoid any subsequent cause for disappointment, we strongly advise the following advice is heeded.
When installing a door, it is best to seek advice from professionals, such as Statesman Doors or the stockist from which you purchased the product – often they will have an installation service or can offer you essential tips to help you to get it right.
A door purchase can be a once in a lifetime event, or two to three times at the most on average. Certain terminology used in the industry will pop up from time to time. Of course, Statesman Doors, or one of their helpful authorised resellers are always on hand to help you decipher the lingo so you get exactly the right door products for your project, but here is a list of the most common terms to help you make an informed choice or assist you with your research.
