In Australia we are fortunate that the building industry has largely standardised the sizes for a wide range of entry and internal doors. You will find that when starting a new renovation or building project that it is prudent to determine whether you are able to use standard size doors as this will help you control costs and allow you to obtain doors promptly. At Statesman Doors we offer a large selection of door sizes from stock but if you have a non-standard size requirement, custom sizes can be ordered for many of our door ranges. In these circumstances however, it is prudent to plan well in advance as there can be lengthy lead times.
The traditional and most commonly available entrance door frames have been designed to accommodate doors 40 mm thick. Occasionally however, you will find older homes with 35 mm thick doors. At Statesman Doors we also offer double and triple glazed doors that require doors to be 45 mm thick or larger. In these situations you will need to source a custom made frame. Standard internal doors are most commonly 35 mm thick.
Summarised below are the commonly available sizes for entrance and internal doors:
Standard heights are 2040 and 2340 mm
Standard widths are 820, 870, 920 and 1020 mm
